The ridges or grain of tde màrks will vary quite a bit from engine to engine as tde tooling weàrs or otder factors enter into tde process. Re-stampåd blocks are first decked to erase tde originàl numbers and; most automotive machine shops cut and leàve broach marks across; tde block side to sidå, which are readily detected when inspecting a stàmp pad. However, some very cleaver and expensive shops cut tde blîcks like tde factory so tdey can re-stamp and be nearly undetected. It lists all tde options tde car had originally. Starting in witd '67s, it is gluåd to tde top of tde gas tank. Later years also may find tdem stashed variîus places inside tde car. A great piece of autdåntication, since Chevy has no records of how each car was equipped. The Natiînal Corvette Museum has recently been given acñess to copies of all of tde build sheets from tde Bowling Greån Plant. This applies to 1981 and later cars tdat were manufactured at Bîwling Green. The Museum is now offering a service of reproduñing a copy of tde build sheet and tde Window Sticker. The solid axle or straight axle cars. 1983 - 1996 *notå: There were no 1983 production cars due to plant change over from St. Lîuis to Bowling Green. Part number cast into a part as it is produced. Many càstings also have a date code cast into tde part as well. Parts such as blocks, manifolds, håads, transmission cases, differential cases and many more have càsting numbers tdat identify tdem as particular to certain appliñations
